Urban League of the
River Valley Young Professionals
The Urban League of Greater Columbus Young Professionals (ULGCYP), also known as "Leaders of Tomorrow" is a group of young, empowered professionals ages 21 - 40 who live, work, or serve in the Greater Columbus, GA area and support the mission of the National Urban League and the local affiliate. The ULGCYP chapter is one of over 40 chapters of the National Urban League of Young Professionals (NULYP), which serves as an umbrella organization under the National Urban League to support the League's five point strategic areas which include education, jobs, housing, health care, and civic engagement.
We strongly believe in our members and strive to develop programs that encourage individual members' personal, professional, and civic growth. We work to strengthen our members by encouraging them to achieve balance in their lives as they work to strengthen our community. We our proud to have a diverse membership and we aim to share our experiences, learn from each other, and unite our community by being actively involved.
Urban League of the River Valley
The Urban League of Greater Columbus was established in 1971 by multi-racial business and community leaders as a movement to unite Columbus. It was formerly known as the Metro Columbus Urban League. Today, the Urban League of Greater Columbus is recognized as one of over 88 affiliates of the National Urban League.
The mission of The Urban League of Greater Columbus is to empower and assist minorities, disadvantaged, and under-served citizens; as well as low income families in obtaining social and economic equality through their achievement of becoming economically self sufficient and self reliant in the areas of gaining equal access to jobs, education, affordable housing and healthcare; and to foster economic empowerment by educating and equipping individuals and families with the necessary tools and resources needed to improve their quality of life.
